Posted by slowry in Saturday, November 22nd 2008   under: IMC    Tags: AzoogleAds, Clickbank, Commission Junction, Google Adwords, IMC, Internet Marketers Companion, ShareaSale

After an extensive beta period IMC Revision 1.10 has been released to the public.

With some bug fixes and some excellent new features such as the new Google Adwords email report import module.

The email import module allows you to quickly and easily import your Google Adwords data into IMC from an emailed report.

Also now shipping with Revision 1.10 is a demo database that installed by default. This allows you see right away how IMC fits together.

Forum Update and Integration

Posted by slowry in Tuesday, November 11th 2008   under: IMC    Tags: Adwords, Email, Google, Internet Marketers Companion, Invision Board

The forum has been upgraded which should solve some spam / phishing loop holes that have been found with the older versions of Invision Board.

Also now when signing up for the Demo or buying Internet Marketers Companion, user details are forwarded automatically to the forum and an email is sent to the sign up email address with login/ password details.

Kind Regards,
Shane

Demo Database with 1.10

Posted by slowry in Monday, November 10th 2008   under: IMC    Tags: Adwords, Click Bank, IM Companion, Internet Marketers Companion, PPC

Firmly in the "why didn’t I think of this before" basket. IMC version 1.10 is shipping with a Demo database as default.

This is so you can have a really good look at how Internet Marketers Companion fits together right from the get go without having to go through the tutorials on how to import your data.

The previous versions have shipping with test data that ran you through how to get data into the local database but it will be significantly easier to see how it fits together with one that’s been pre-built.

The tools are already in place to build a new database and / or back up your old ones. Once you are happy with how things all fit together you can use the Tools -> New Database menu item to create a brand spanking new database to put your own data into.

Things are falling into place and once the beta testers give the nod I’ll be releasing it to the updates page.

Cheers,

Shane

IMC 1.10 Release enters Beta

Posted by slowry in Wednesday, October 15th 2008   under: IMC    Tags: Google Adwords, Internet Marketers Companion, PPC

 Gday Folks,

Well version 1.10 has finally made it to beta and is starting to look pretty good. The main feature change with this revision is the ability to hook into a POP3 email account and import Google Adwords Reports.

This seems to be working nicely and just needs some testing and polishing before being released.

No date as yet but hopefully not too long. I’ll send a note to the list when it’s released.

Kind Regards,

Shane

Differences with Version 1.10

Posted by slowry in Wednesday, July 16th 2008   under: IMC

Hi Folks,

I’m working away on the next release of IMC. There are quite a few changes for this version.

I’ve moved the browser to the first tab. Wait a minute you say … what browser? Well, it’s always been there, I’ve just had it turned off for the most part. There are a couple of other features that were sitting in there that I had finished and were disabled, that I have removed.

Starting with this version you’ll notice that there is a libs directory under your IMC directory. For a full description of why that is you can go HERE

In short starting from REALBasic 2008r2 (I’m now using REALBasic 2008r3) REAL Software have changed the way the language works.

There’s nothing to worry about and no major changes to functionality, it’s more how they deal with DLL’s and internal Windows memory.

The main feature I’m working on is the ability to point IMC at an email address that you are getting adwords data emailed to and have it pump the information in automagically. That should significantly reduce the effort to keep things up to date and let you focus on getting the Affiliate Network data in.

That being said hopefully I’ll be in a position to release 1.10 in the next few of weeks.

As always, I’m happy to get your feedback.

Kind Regards,

Shane

Hide A Link Now Available

Posted by slowry in Sunday, July 13th 2008   under: Affiliate Software

I’ve been building a lot of web sites lately and as part of that, recommending quite a few affiliate products. It dawned on me that a tool that let me build up affiliate link code with and/ or without images would be a useful tool.

The result is HideALink which is now available for about the cost of a Venti Caramel Latte. It’s a simple little program that generates the Link code for you. Simply paste in your affiliate link, or any other long URL you’d like to hide and the URL for the image or text for the link and HideALink will spit out the link code for you to paste into your landing page.

Hope this is useful,

Shane

AVG Anti-Virus Error

Posted by slowry in Wednesday, June 25th 2008   under: Affiliate Marketing    Tags: Anti Virus, AVG

Hi Folks,

Looks like the folks at AVG have flagged something in REALBasic incorrectly as a virus. This also affects IMC.

I’ve had my AVG telling me both the REALBasic executable and those I’ve compiled using it as having virii.

I’ve recently changed to PC-Cillin and it doesn’t have the same issues.

All programs are guaranteed virus free from Orange Sands.

Featured in the NY Times

Posted by slowry in Tuesday, May 13th 2008   under: Affiliate Marketing    Tags: Affiliate Software, Links

OK, well maybe not featured as such. I was looking through my email and saw a Google Alert come through for the the Internet Marketers Companion website.

I had recently uploaded Internet Marketers Companion to download.com and I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was once I started the process. Now I just wish I had done it last year.

So I was looking at the links in the email and I opened this one . To my very pleasant surprise it was at the NY Times. Looks like the download.com items are syndicated to a lot of very nice websites.

Internet Marketers Companion has already become a favourite download and I’m looking forward to many more Affiliate Marketers getting a look at what it can do for them.

Best Regards,

Shane

Paypal from non US countries.

Posted by slowry in Tuesday, March 25th 2008   under: IMC

Hi Folks,

It’s come to my attention that some people have had issues purchasing from non us countries. It looks like, after a quick check and a chat with PayPal, that a setting in our profile was left in the wrong position.

This has been fixed and everyone should now be able to buy IM Companion again.

Please let me know if there are any further issues.

Kind Regards,

Shane

Well Folks,
It’s that time of year when I lay out the road map for the year. I have a few ideas and some plans for what I want out of IM Companion this year.

I’d also like to hear from you. You can comment here on the thread, email your comments and requests to the helpdesk, or swing by the forum here
I’ll be noting down the changes and will incorporate as many as I can.

Cheers,

Shane
